Pine Tree Hill Elementary School in Clementi, Kuala Lumpur

Pine Tree Hill is the longest and most challenging trail in Fraser’s Hill. It’s an undulating and calf straining high mountain forest trail but it’s worth the pain for a majestic view of the Titiwangsa range from 4000 ft high on clear days. There’s a bonus view if you come around dawn to see the mists rising up amongst the plush lower tropical forests to build up to a thick foggy crescendo.

The Pine Tree Hill trail starts at the end of High Pines Road, just after a Telekom Malaysia guest house. The trailhead is easy to spot – just look for a large entrance gate with Pine Tree Trail written on it. The first section of the trail is a bit muddy and there are a few small streams that you need to cross. The trail then winds through the lush and pristine mountain forest with pine trees and rhododendron bushes everywhere.
